On Saturday, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that the experienced all-rounder Shoaib Malik is being allowed to join the Pakistan squad touring England a bit late, because Malik wants to meet and spent some time with his family as he sadly has not met with them since last 5 months due to flight restriction reasoning the COVID-19 Pandemic.
His wife star tennis player Sania Miza and son Izhaan have been in India due to the ban of international flights amidst the pandemic while Malik got stuck in Sialkot, Pakistan.
PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan quoted that “Shoaib Malik was not been able to see his immediate family for nearly five months, unlikely rest of us”
In addition he said, “On humanitarian grounds it comes in our prior responsibility to respect the due request of Shoaib Malik as travel restrictions are now gradually getting eased and he is having the opportunity to meet and spent time with the family”
England and Wales Cricket Board also have agreed to give Malik relaxation of arriving late as PCB already has communicated with the correspondent of the other side regarding Malik’s request.
Squad of 29 members will flew for Manchester on the 28th of June, before reaching to Derbyshire to complete their quarantine of 14 days, during this quarantine the green-shirts will be allowed to practice 3 Test and 3 T20Is are being schedule to play in August & September in a very hygienically-protected environment in England subsequent to the COVID-19 pandemic
