COVID Alert

The article is going to give you a brief analysis about the app “COVID Alert” launched by Canadian government to fight against COVID-19.

Since every country is trying to reduce the impact of COVID-19, and in the plan of action they are trying their level best to find different ways which can prove to be a great source of reducing impact of the contagious disease. Canada has also taken the initiative by launching a very useful smartphone app on last Friday. This app is going to highlight those people who have been tested positive recently for COVID-19 whenever they comes near you.

PM urges the nation to have “COVID Alert” into their smartphones immediately

PM of Canada Mr. Justin Trudeau described about the app himself. The app has been named as COVID Alert. He said that, “this app is going to prove itself as a very useful tool in fighting against COVID-19, and encouraged the citizens to download and install it on their smartphones immediately on volunteer basis, because the app would only be operation if the positive one is also having that app.

PM Said that I have downloaded the app this morning and I encourage you to do the same, the more people who use it, the better it can trace, then therefore slow, the spead of the virus.

In addition he said that according to our health experts and developers of app, if we got succeeded in making most of the people to install the app, then this app has the potential to help in preventing future outbreak of COVID-19 in Canada.

Firstly it was introduced in the most populated province of Canada which is Ontario, afterwards in coming days it will be provided to all the remaining provinces as well.

Smart technology applied to make the app effective

The app has the potential to identify the positives by using the Bluetooth technology when they comes in contact with the other ones who have that app installed in their smartphones.

A code will be issued every time a person goes for the test and gets positive in past 14 days. The code will be entered into the app. That code makes that person distinctive from others and makes him identified by the other users of this app. That app will also guide them for the further actions.

According to a federal official this app is as essential as a Mask or any other essential like PPEs. They urged the people to adopt it as a voluntary approach, and promote the app as much as they can. He added that practicing this can let our safety measure to reach the next level.

The app is designed with protections to your privacy. It will never disclose your name, address, contacts and any health data or never trace your locations. If a positive case stays near to you for around 15 minutes and two meters apart, then the app will make you identified about that person.

It is going to be a great initiative as it has been practiced in other parts of the world as well, but due to the privacy issues, they never become popular enough to get adopted widely. But in “COVID Alert” it is not like that and it secures the privacyof its users.
